High Energy Physics Laboratory in Hanyang University
  • [Nov.25/2015] HEP Lab.'s Logo image has been updated.
  • [Nov.1/2015] Clould service has been opened: http://hep.hanyang.ac.kr/cloud
  • Indico Page is NOT available/restorable now since our web server disk and its backups were completely broken.
  • [Otc.16/2015] SSH access speed-up pachted. [see more details]

High Energy Physics?

Particle physics is a branch of physics that studies the elementary subatomic constituents of matter and radiation, and the interactive relationship between them.

It is also called High Energy Physics, because many elementary particles do not occur under normal circumstances in nature due to energetic instability, but can be created and detected during high energy collisions with other particles, as is done in particle accelerators.

Research Area
  • TA experiment : This is an experiment designed to observe cosmic-ray-induced air showers at extremely high energies using a combination of ground array and air-fluorescence techniques.
  • Belle Experiment : This is an experiment performed at the KEK Accelerator and its main goal is a study the CP (Charge-Parity) violation.
